- Visits: free to cancel up to 48 hours before; 50% refund within 48 hours; full refund if we cancel for weather or safety.
- Refunds are paid to the original payment method within 7 working days.
2. Reservation requests and interest registrations
Building a farm on this website and sending a reservation request (or registering interest in a farm that isn’t open yet) is free and non-binding. No payment is taken on this website. You can withdraw a request at any time by WhatsApp or email, and there is nothing to refund.
3. The ₹1,000 reservation
When your crop is close to reaching the number of families it needs, and only once our legal set-up is complete, we’ll call you and may ask for a ₹1,000 reservation to hold your plants. We’ll send you a receipt.
- It’s fully refundable, for any reason, until you sign your membership agreement. Just ask.
- It’s refunded automatically if your crop doesn’t go ahead, or if we decide not to offer you membership.
- When you sign your membership agreement, it’s adjusted against your setup fee.
- We refund it to the original payment method within 7 working days of your request. Your bank may take a little longer to show it.
4. If a crop doesn’t go ahead
We plant demand first. If a crop doesn’t reach its threshold in time for its planting window, or we can’t secure suitable land or a suitable partner farm for it, you pay nothing for that crop. Anything you’ve paid towards it is, at your choice:
- refunded in full, within 7 working days; or
- transferred to another crop that is going ahead, or held for the next planting window of the same crop.
5. The setup fee
You pay the one-time setup fee after you sign your membership agreement. It pays for establishing your plants: saplings or seed, pit and bed preparation, drip lines and tags. Because those costs are incurred specifically for you, the refund depends on timing:
- If we fail to plant your crops within the planting window stated in your agreement, you get a full refund (or, if you prefer, you can carry it over to the next window).
- If you cancel more than 30 days before the scheduled planting date, and saplings haven’t yet been procured for you, you get a 90% refund. The 10% covers planning and administration.
- Once saplings or planting material have been procured for your allocation, the setup fee is non-refundable. This also applies to any cancellation made 30 days or less before the scheduled planting date. We’ll tell you in writing, by WhatsApp or email, on the day your saplings are procured, so you always know where you stand.
6. The annual care fee
The annual care fee is paid in advance for each care year, starting from planting.
- If you cancel within 14 days of the start of a care year (other than your first year, which starts at planting), we refund that year’s care fee in full, less the value of any produce already delivered or credited to you in that year.
- If you cancel later in the year, we refund the care fee for the full months remaining after the month in which you tell us, pro-rata, less the value of any produce from that care year already delivered or credited to you beyond the months you’ve used. Values are calculated at the rates in your membership agreement.
- If we end your membership for any reason other than a serious breach by you, or permanently stop caring for your crop because of our own failure, we refund the care fee for the remaining months in full. Harvest protection may also apply; see our harvest policy.
- A plant that dies is replaced free of charge in the next planting window, so it doesn’t by itself lead to a refund of care fees.
If you’d rather not cancel, you can ask to transfer your membership to a family member. We’ll agree unless there’s a good reason not to.
7. Farm visits and workshops
- Free visits (such as open farm days): please let us know if you can’t come, so we can offer your place to another family.
- Paid visits and workshops, cancelled by you more than 48 hours before the start: full refund, or move to another date for free.
- Cancelled by you within 48 hours of the start: 50% refund, because we’ll have prepared materials and staff for you. No-shows aren’t refunded.
- Cancelled or cut short by us, including for heat, heavy rain, storms or any other weather or safety reason: full refund, or a free new date if you prefer.
See our visits and safety policy for how weather decisions are made.
8. How refunds are paid
- Refunds go back to the original payment method (for example, the same UPI ID or bank account) within 7 working days of the refund being confirmed. We don’t refund in cash.
- We’ll confirm the amount in writing, with how it was calculated.
- Amounts are refunded as paid, including any tax charged on them where the law allows; no interest is added.
- Farm credit in your harvest wallet can’t be refunded or converted to cash; see our harvest policy.
