CSR, stated carefully

Programmes that may qualify under Schedule VII. Your CSR committee decides.

School and grower orchards are designed to fit the Companies Act, 2013 (Section 135, Schedule VII). Eligibility depends on each project’s design and is your committee’s call, not ours.

Every sponsored tree has a QR plant passport. Every quarter you get a report built from the same records our farm team uses.

CO₂ figures are estimates from published ranges for fruit orchards, shown with their method. They are not carbon credits or offsets, and aren’t verified by any registry.

How it works

From first call to first report.

  1. Enquiry

    Tell us what you have in mind with the form below. Two minutes.

  2. Call

    We talk through your goals, timing (Diwali is closer than it looks), budget and the people you want to reach.

  3. Proposal

    A written proposal: trees, farms, schools or growers, reporting and prices from our current catalogue.

  4. Agreement

    A gifting order, or a CSR MoU that names the beneficiaries. Your CSR committee decides eligibility.

  5. Planting or season

    Saplings go in at the next planting window (Jaipur: 13 Feb 2027); established trees are allocated for their season.

  6. Reports

    Quarterly updates with photos, records and plain numbers, plus an annual review.

Questions companies ask

Does this count as CSR?

It may. Orchards for schools and small growers can fit Schedule VII of the Companies Act (environment and agroforestry, education, nutrition, rural livelihoods), but eligibility depends on how the project is designed and run. Your CSR committee and advisers decide. We’ll give them everything they need to assess it.

Can UGAANA receive our CSR funds directly?

UGAANA is a platform of Nexivara, a private company, not a registered CSR implementing agency. CSR projects are run by your company directly, or through a CSR-registered implementing agency (Form CSR-1), with UGAANA as the field and technology partner under a normal service agreement.

Are employee and client gifts CSR?

No. Gifts to employees, clients or their families are a normal business expense, not CSR. We keep gifting and CSR in separate proposals and invoices, so there’s never any confusion.

Do you sell carbon credits or offsets?

No. We report an estimated range of CO₂ taken up by the trees you sponsor, clearly labelled as an estimate. It is not a carbon credit, it isn’t verified by a registry, and it shouldn’t be used as an offset claim. At our scale, certified carbon credits wouldn’t be honest or economic.

Is UGAANA already farming?

Not yet, and we won’t pretend otherwise. We’re securing land within an hour of Jaipur, to be cared for by the UGAANA farm team and supervisor, for a target first planting on 13 Feb 2027. Partner orchards in the mango belts and Himachal are being selected, so established-tree gifts are registered interest until an orchard is contracted.

What does it cost?

It depends on the trees, farms, delivery and reporting you choose. Every proposal is priced from our current catalogue, in writing, before anything is agreed. There’s nothing to pay to enquire.

UGAANA offers a managed agricultural service. Members do not own land, trees or any share in the farm, and membership is not an investment. Harvest quantities shown are reference, planning and conservative estimates, not promises; actual harvests depend on weather, plant health and variety. Reservation requests are free and non-binding, and nothing is charged until your crop reaches the families it needs and you sign the membership agreement. You then pay a one-time setup fee (none for established trees) and an annual care fee from planting. Membership runs a year at a time and can be ended, paused or transferred as set out in our membership terms. Final terms are set out in the membership agreement.
